The Duskbloods is delayed to next year: should you still pre-order it?

FromSoftware has moved The Duskbloods to next year with no date. The only pre-orders we can find are accounts, so here's what we'd do with your money.

The Duskbloods won't make it out this year. FromSoftware said on 29 October that the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive has moved to next year, and it hasn't named a month or a day.

If you were about to pre-order, it's worth a second look at what's actually on sale, because we can only find two offers and neither of them is a key.

Why The Duskbloods needs more time

FromSoftware says development has reached the final tuning stage. After the network test it saw plenty of interest in the combat, the strategic depth and player expression, and it wants time for the last adjustments to the rules and balance. It also apologised to everyone looking forward to the game.

Nothing else has moved. This is still a multiplayer-only PvPvE game, exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, with no other platforms announced.

What's on sale for The Duskbloods today

The game isn't out, so everything here is a pre-order. Both offers are Nintendo Switch 2 accounts: Key4Games at €46.23 with the GOCDKEYS15 coupon (€48.57 with fees) and Difmark at €53.75 with the Gocdkeys coupon (€56.17 with fees).

When the first key turns up, you'll find it on our page to buy The Duskbloods key.

Our price history only covers accounts so far. It shows a median of €63.99 (no fees) and a low of €49.91 (no fees, no coupon) on 5 October. Key4Games' list price today is €54.39 (no fees, no coupon), so it's the 15% coupon that takes it below that low.

Nintendo's official price isn't in our comparison. That doesn't mean there isn't one, only that we can't measure these offers against it.

What buying a Nintendo Switch 2 account means

You get the username and password of an account belonging to someone else, with the game on it. The game never reaches your own account, and if the seller takes that login back, you lose it.

What we'd do with the money instead

The delay removes any reason to hurry. Pre-ordering today means handing over between €48.57 and €56.17 with fees for an account, on a game that doesn't have a release date.

On Switch 2 there's no need to go through a reseller either. We'd wait for the Nintendo eShop, or a physical edition if there is one. In the meantime, set a price alert and we'll email you if it drops.

Prices checked on the morning of 2 November.
