Windstorm: Start of a Great Friendship - Remastered brings the beloved Ostwind film and book series to life with a complete visual overhaul. You play as Mika, a young girl with an innate gift for connecting with horses, as she embarks on a journey to befriend Windstorm, a wild black stallion. Set in the picturesque Alpine estate of Kaltenbach, the game combines open-world exploration with a rich narrative centered on building trust and friendship with your equine companion.

Gameplay revolves around a satisfying loop of riding, caring, and bonding. You'll gallop across scenic landscapes on horseback, participate in racing challenges, complete story-driven missions, and search for hidden collectibles scattered throughout the estate. Between adventures, you must tend to Windstorm's needs—grooming, hoof care, stable maintenance, and training—to keep him healthy, happy, and responsive. This pet-care simulation element adds depth to the relationship mechanics, making your bond feel earned rather than automatic.

The Remastered edition leverages Unreal Engine 5 to deliver substantially upgraded visuals, enhanced character animations, and refined environmental details including new vegetation, dynamic lighting, and weather effects. A new photo mode lets you capture and customize screenshots with filters and editing tools, encouraging exploration and creative expression. The game also features improved riding mechanics, adjustable difficulty settings, and new achievements to pursue.

This title targets younger players and families seeking a relaxing, story-driven adventure with a focus on animal companionship and outdoor exploration. The E for Everyone rating and accessible gameplay make it welcoming to players of all skill levels, while the Alpine setting and horse-riding focus provide a distinctive alternative to action-heavy titles. Whether you're a fan of the Windstorm franchise or new to the series, the Remastered version offers a polished, visually appealing experience centered on the timeless bond between girl and horse.
