Step into an endless summer within a miniature terrarium world. Vivarium follows 11-year-old Jenny, a bright resident of a quaint pocket universe hidden in a sun room, as she navigates daily life among eccentric townspeople, tends gardens, cooks meals, and collects stickers. Beneath this idyllic facade lies a deeper mystery—strange occurrences gradually disrupt the town's tranquility, prompting Jenny to uncover hidden truths about her seemingly perfect world.

Gameplay centers on exploration and character-driven storytelling, expanding on the life-sim formula with a branching narrative shaped by your choices. Days sync to the real-world calendar, providing daily discoveries while progressing through major story events. Between story beats, endless slice-of-life moments allow you to spend time as you wish, creating a rhythm of mystery and comfort.

The game features a hand-illustrated cel-animation style inspired by classic anime, particularly early Miyazaki films. Every frame is hand-crafted using traditional animation techniques, with environments rendered in rich gouache painting and subtle post-processing effects that replicate the look of film photography. Dynamic day-night cycles and detailed painted backdrops bring the terrarium to life.

What sets Vivarium apart is its commitment to hand-drawn artistry combined with a choice-driven narrative that encourages multiple playthroughs. The game's evolving world and non-linear storytelling allow players to discover new events, relationships, and endings as they continue exploring. Developed by Studio Meadowflower in collaboration with Crunchyroll and Shochiku Games, Vivarium targets players seeking cozy, story-rich adventures with genuine artistic ambition—those who appreciate narrative depth wrapped in a warm, nostalgic aesthetic.
