Vampire: The Masquerade - Oaths and Ashes is a narrative-driven visual novel set in contemporary Berlin, where two vampires with conflicting agendas navigate the fractured underworld of the World of Darkness. Play as Alice, an ambitious Camarilla Ventrue, or Lenz, a resourceful Thinblood alchemist, each pursuing their own path to power and survival in a city carved into territories by warring factions.

The core gameplay loop centers on branching dialogue choices that shape your character's identity and relationships, combined with character-specific abilities that open new tactical options. Your decisions carry weight—investigations can fail, alliances can crumble, and every choice closes alternative paths. The political landscape of Berlin shifts dynamically based on your actions, creating a living map where factions rise and fall according to who you betray or support.

Mechanically, the game draws from Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition rules. Alice leverages her superior Disciplines—vampire supernatural powers—to dominate through direct supernatural force. Lenz compensates for his limited Disciplines through an innovative Alchemy System, crafting varied formulae that grant him new abilities and level the playing field against more powerful Kindred. Both protagonists must manage their Hunger, the constant bloodthirst that threatens to expose them, and maintain the Masquerade—the ancient law keeping humanity unaware of vampire existence.

Oaths and Ashes distinguishes itself through its dual-protagonist structure with asymmetrical mechanics, allowing players to experience vampire society from radically different perspectives. The political machinations system rewards careful social maneuvering, while the Alchemy crafting system provides tangible progression and tactical variety. The game appeals to both newcomers to the World of Darkness and series veterans, offering rich lore integration without requiring prior knowledge.

This title is designed for players who value narrative consequence, character-driven storytelling, and meaningful choice systems. It suits those drawn to dark urban fantasy, vampire fiction, and complex moral dilemmas where survival often demands compromise.
