Old School is a school life simulation that puts you in control of your own high school experience. Create a custom student character and navigate a bustling school environment filled with hundreds of other students, each with their own routines and personalities. Your days are structured around attending classes to build knowledge and skills, but the real challenge lies in managing your social standing—popularity matters as much as grades if you want to thrive rather than merely survive.

The gameplay loop centers on time management and social dynamics. You attend scheduled classes throughout the day, interact with other students, and explore dozens of interactive locations both inside and outside the school. Every decision affects your character's reputation, relationships, and academic progress. The game offers extensive character customization, allowing you to either select from hundreds of preset characters or fully customize your student's appearance and attributes in the editor.

Old School distinguishes itself through its deliberate retro aesthetic and open-ended approach to school life. Rather than following a linear narrative, the game emphasizes emergent gameplay where your choices shape your experience. The 3D environments, rendered in classic low-poly style, create a nostalgic atmosphere while maintaining full interactivity. You can engage in fights, form friendships, attend parties, or focus purely on academics—the game doesn't force a single playstyle.

Developed by MDickie, a veteran of indie life simulation games, Old School targets players who enjoy sandbox-style gameplay with minimal hand-holding. It appeals to those seeking a more authentic school experience without modern game conventions, offering both single-player exploration and local multiplayer options. The game's mature rating reflects its unflinching portrayal of school social hierarchies, including violence, language, and complex interpersonal dynamics.
