Nomori is a mind-bending puzzle adventure set in a whimsical spirit world inspired by Japanese folklore and Studio Ghibli aesthetics. You play as Kiko, a young girl who stumbles into a realm of floating islands populated by eccentric spirits. The game's core loop revolves around manipulating three interconnected mechanics: portal placement and rotation, gravity direction control, and time flow manipulation. By placing portals on surfaces and rotating them, you redirect gravity to walk on walls and ceilings, creating new traversal paths. Time manipulation allows you to reverse object movement, revealing hidden routes and solutions. Puzzles are designed with multiple solutions—experimentation with portal placement, timing, and gravity combinations rewards creative problem-solving rather than enforcing a single path.

What sets Nomori apart is its deliberate contrast between inviting, colorful visuals and rigorous spatial logic. The Ghibli-inspired art direction creates a soft, cozy atmosphere that keeps players engaged even when puzzles demand sustained concentration. The game spans four seasonal domains, each introducing environmental variety while maintaining consistent physics-based mechanics. As Kiko bonds with the spirits and explores these interconnected islands, she works to reconnect the shattered world of Nomori.

The game targets players who enjoy contemplative puzzle design and spatial experimentation—those who appreciate titles like Monument Valley. It rewards curiosity and observation over reflexes, making it accessible to puzzle enthusiasts of varying skill levels. Nomori is developed by Enchanted Works, a small independent studio in the Netherlands, and represents their first full release following the successful Prologue demo.
