GreedFall: The Dying World is a narrative-driven action RPG set three years before the original GreedFall, placing you as a native of Teer Fradee who becomes a Doneigad—a sage serving your clan. Torn from your island and transported to the war-torn continent of Gacane, you navigate a world ravaged by the Malichor plague and political intrigue, inspired by 17th-century Europe. The game emphasizes player agency through multiple approaches: diplomacy, deception, crafting, exploration, or direct combat, with your choices carrying lasting consequences that shape the unfolding narrative.

Combat employs a tactical system with pause mechanics, requiring consideration of weapon types, status conditions, and team composition. You recruit up to eight companions, each with distinct stories, beliefs, and combat specialties. Beyond battles, they provide crucial knowledge of Gacane's factions and leverage diplomatic doors. Character and companion progression is fully customizable—adjust equipment, outfits, attributes, and combat roles to reflect your playstyle.

The Gacane Pioneers Pack adds two exclusive cosmetic outfits inspired by the factions encountered in the first game, allowing you to customize your character and companions with faction-themed aesthetics. This DLC enriches roleplay options without affecting core gameplay mechanics.

GreedFall: The Dying World targets players seeking old-school RPG experiences reminiscent of KOTOR and Dragon Age, with deep world-building, companion-driven storytelling, and meaningful choice systems. The game balances atmospheric exploration with tactical engagement, appealing to those who value narrative depth and faction politics over action-focused gameplay.
