Forehead Chip is a cyberpunk pixel-art platformer set in Arca City, a fractured utopia divided between the technologically advanced and the chip-less Holdouts. You play as young Chip, a reluctant recruit in the Implant Corps, tasked with capturing Holdouts to climb the ranks and claim the coveted Forehead Chip—a one-of-a-kind implant that represents ultimate status and power.

The core gameplay loop centers on tactical capture combat across diverse city locations. Rather than destroying enemies, you must manage limited ammunition and use precision timing to capture Holdouts alive. The game features multiple weapon types with distinct mechanics, and you can customize your arsenal by fusing ammo with logic capsules that alter projectile behavior. This risk-reward system demands careful resource management and strategic thinking in each encounter.

Beyond the action, Forehead Chip weaves a branching narrative where your choices and dialogue responses shape the story's outcome. Explore the city, interact with characters across the societal divide, and uncover hidden paths that reveal darker truths about Arca City's regime. The game features multiple endings tied to your decisions, encouraging replays to discover alternative paths and secret twists.

The title differentiates itself through its satirical take on transhumanism and social control, wrapped in a retro 80s/90s sci-fi aesthetic. The pixel-art visuals pair with a licensed synthwave soundtrack featuring modern artists, creating an immersive neon-soaked atmosphere. Gameplay supports single-player story mode, couch co-op for two players, and competitive PVP for up to four players locally, making it ideal for both solo narrative exploration and social multiplayer sessions.

Forehead Chip appeals to players who enjoy retro-inspired action games with substance—those seeking pixel-art platformers that combine arcade mechanics with meaningful storytelling, choice-driven narratives, and local multiplayer fun. The game respects player agency, offering dialogue as optional flavor for those who prefer pure action.
