FD 27: Direct Your Football Club inverts the traditional football management formula by placing you in the boardroom rather than the dugout. Instead of controlling tactics and formations, you assume the role of club owner and CEO, making strategic decisions that shape your organization from the ground up. This Early Access title focuses on the business and organizational side of professional football, where success depends on building a sustainable structure rather than match-day tactics.

The core gameplay loop revolves around managing four interconnected departments: Sporting Direction, Medical Department, Marketing, and Financial Department. Each department comprises staff members with distinct attributes, performance ratings, and salary demands. You hire and fire personnel, negotiate player transfers, secure sponsorship deals, and balance budgets—all while your coaching staff handles tactical matters on the pitch. The simulation engine evaluates match outcomes based on dozens of variables including player quality, form, fatigue, morale, injuries, and coaching capability, creating a dynamic system where your off-pitch decisions directly influence on-pitch results.

Key mechanics include a club vision system where you establish a philosophy that guides recruitment and development, facility upgrades that expand club infrastructure, and a transfer market populated with thousands of players and hundreds of sponsors. Your role is to construct the organizational foundation that enables success; when match day arrives, you observe whether your strategic choices paid off. The game emphasizes that winning leagues requires more than talented players—it demands a solid organizational structure working in concert.

FD 27 differentiates itself from traditional football management sims by removing tactical control entirely, appealing to players interested in the business and administrative aspects of club management. The game is currently in active development on Steam Early Access, with planned additions including European competitions, a youth academy system, share-selling mechanics for financing, and league assemblies. This indie project prioritizes depth in organizational simulation over flashy presentation, targeting football enthusiasts who dream of running an entire club from the executive level.
