Decimation blends sci-fi tower defense with direct hero combat, set on a distant colonized planet where your strategic choices and personal skill determine survival. You build and upgrade towers to control enemy waves, but towers alone won't secure victory—you must command your hero directly on the battlefield using ARPG-style combat abilities, dodging attacks and executing precise skill rotations to turn the tide of battle.

The core gameplay loop emphasizes active participation over passive strategy. Elite enemies drop power-up orbs that pause combat and present three random choices from fifteen game-changing battle effects: direct damage strikes, speed manipulation, damage amplification, resource boosts, and more. These roguelike elements keep each encounter fresh and unpredictable, allowing clever timing to transform losing situations into clutch victories. Resource management, tower positioning, and timing matter critically, but your hero's performance ultimately determines the outcome.

Progression systems reward both tactical planning and mechanical skill. Upgrade your hero and arsenal between battles, unlock new tower types with distinct roles, and experiment with different ability combinations. The game currently features four campaign levels in Act 1, three starting tower types, and a single hero with a growing ability set, with more content planned for full release.

Decimation targets strategy enthusiasts who want meaningful agency in tower defense gameplay. Unlike traditional tower defense games where you passively watch defenses work, this title demands active hero control and split-second decision-making. It appeals to players who enjoy roguelike mechanics, ARPG combat systems, and sci-fi settings, offering a fresh take on the tower defense genre by making the player character the deciding factor in every battle.
