Quick verdict

On paper the best version of Jedi Survivor is the PC one, but the one that behaves is PS5 in performance mode.

Best graphics experience PC ray tracing, DLSS 3.1 and frame generation, if performance holds up
Best console experience PS5 steadier frame rate than Series X in the 60fps mode
Best for the money Xbox Series X slightly higher average resolution than PS5 in both modes

PC has the toolkit

It is the only version with configurable ray tracing, DLSS 3.1 and frame generation, plus FSR 2.2, ultrawide, HDR and 120fps. It also loads faster than any console. The problem is not what it offers, it is what it delivers.

With a very large warning

The launch analysis refused to publish PC graphs because it considered the game broken there: drops below 50fps on an RTX 4080 using FSR. If you go PC, expect to patch and to spend time in the settings menu.

PS5 and Series X are near identical

Both get a quality and a performance mode with ray-traced reflections and global illumination. Series X holds a slightly higher average resolution, but PS5 is steadier in the 60fps mode. Since patch 7 both raise the performance ceiling to 1706x960 and reconstruct 2560x1440 with FSR 2, at the cost of dropping ray tracing in that mode.

Series S falls short

One mode at 1080p and 30fps, no ray tracing and no performance option. It cuts shadows, texturing, geometry, vegetation, reflections and post-processing, and the loudest cut is a much simpler global illumination that changes how several areas read.

The game shipped badly optimised and changed patch by patch: the performance mode figures here are patch 7, not launch.

Jedi Survivor on PS5, Xbox Series and PC: graphics comparison

  • PS5 and Series X get two display modes and Series S only one, at 1080p and 30fps with temporal reconstruction.
  • Quality mode raises the maximum resolution to 2160p reconstructed from around 1440p; performance mode limits it to 1440p from 1080p-972p, and the average is slightly higher on Series X.
  • Performance mode cuts more than resolution: textures, geometry, draw distance and vegetation all take a hit.
  • PS5 and Series X apply ray tracing to some reflections and to ambient occlusion, it cannot be disabled and it is active in both modes.
  • Series S has no ray tracing and cuts shadows, texturing, geometry, vegetation, reflections and post-processing, but the most striking loss is a far simpler global illumination.
  • Every version lets you adjust the field of view.
  • Loading times are fastest on PC, followed by PS5.
  • On performance, PS5 is steadier than Series X in the 60fps mode, though its drops when loading an area are sharper; he considers the PC version broken, dropping below 50fps on an RTX 4080 with FSR.

Jedi Survivor on PS5 versus Xbox Series X and Series S

  • The test uses updates 3 and 4 of the game.
  • In performance mode PS5 runs from 1152x648 to 1536x864 and reconstructs 2304x1296 with FSR 2; Series X runs from 1216x684 to 1621x912 and reconstructs 2432x1368.
  • In resolution mode PS5 moves between 1728x972 and 2346x1320 and Series X between 1728x972 and 2560x1440, both reconstructing 3840x2160 with FSR 2.
  • Series S runs from around 1312x738 to 1600x900 and reconstructs 1920x1080 with FSR 2.
  • PS5 and Series X use ray-traced reflections and appear to use ray-traced global illumination in both modes; Series S has neither ray tracing nor a performance mode.
  • Resolution mode adds foliage and improves LOD transition distance over performance mode and over Series S.
  • Camera and animation stutter shows up on Series S and in resolution mode on the other two, and performance degrades over long sessions.
  • Cutscenes are letterboxed, which lowers the effective resolution, and PS5 and Series X switch performance mode off during them.

Jedi Survivor on PS5: what patch 7 changes

  • Patch 7 disables ray tracing in performance mode.
  • Performance mode gains foliage and a better LOD transition distance compared with patch 4.
  • The dynamic resolution ceiling rises from 1536x864 to 1706x960.
  • The FSR 2 reconstructed resolution goes from 2304x1296 to 2560x1440.
  • The UI drops from 3840x2160 to 2560x1440 in performance mode.

Jedi Survivor on Xbox Series X: what patch 7 changes

  • Patch 7 also disables ray tracing in Series X's performance mode.
  • Performance mode gains foliage and a better LOD transition distance compared with patch 4.
  • The dynamic resolution ceiling rises from 1621x912 to 1706x960.
  • The FSR 2 reconstructed resolution goes from 2432x1368 to 2560x1440.
  • The UI drops from 3840x2160 to 2560x1440 in performance mode.

Frequently asked questions about STAR WARS Jedi Survivor

Which platform does Jedi Survivor look best on?

PC, on features: ray tracing, DLSS 3.1 with frame generation, FSR 2.2, ultrawide and HDR. That said, the launch analysis considered the PC version broken, with drops below 50fps even on an RTX 4080 with FSR.

PS5 or Xbox Series X?

They are nearly identical. Series X holds a slightly higher average resolution in both modes, but PS5 is steadier in the 60fps mode, though its drops when loading an area are sharper. Since patch 7 both reach 1706x960 reconstructed to 2560x1440 in performance.

What did patch 7 change?

It removed ray tracing from performance mode on PS5 and Series X, raised the dynamic resolution ceiling to 1706x960 and the FSR 2 reconstruction to 2560x1440, and added foliage and a better LOD transition. The UI in that mode dropped to 2560x1440.

How does it run on Xbox Series S?

It is the most cut-down version. A single mode at 1080p and 30fps reconstructed from 1600x900 with FSR 2, with no ray tracing and no 60fps option. Shadows, texturing, geometry, vegetation, reflections and post-processing all drop, and its global illumination is far simpler.

Can ray tracing be turned off on console?

No. On PS5 and Series X it covers reflections and global illumination and there is no option to disable it. The only thing that switches it off is patch 7 itself, and only inside performance mode.

Where does it load fastest?

On PC, followed by PS5. It is one of the few PC advantages the analysis signs off on without caveats.
