The best version of Silent Hill 2 Remake is the PC one, and on console the benchmark is PS5.
PC gives you what console does not: ray tracing, ultrawide, 120 FPS and an unusually wide upscaling menu (TSR, DLSS 3.7, FSR 1.0, FSR 3.1 and XeSS 1.3) with frame generation from DLSS and FSR. We have no measurements of our own for this game yet, so we quote no card figures.
PS5 has two modes: quality at dynamic 1440p and 30 FPS, and performance at dynamic 1080p and 60. Performance does not only drop resolution: it cuts reflections, shadows, global illumination and volumetric fog, and that shows in large interiors full of indirect light.
That is why, unusually for this channel, the analysis picks quality mode. In the later Xbox comparison, PS5 keeps a slightly higher average resolution than Series X, though Series X runs steadier, up to 10 FPS ahead.
⚠ On top of that, PS5 performance mode struggles to hold 60 FPS when the game pushes.

Resolution, modes and FPS come from the video analyses above. The rest is published by each platform's official store and by the game's technical sheet on PC. Where nobody publishes the figure we put a dash, not a guess.

Xbox is the Series X column unless Series S is stated. Resolution, modes, FPS, VRR and download size come from the videos; HDR, ray tracing and PC features from the technical sheet and the official Xbox catalogue.
PC. It is the only version with ray tracing, free resolution and quality, ultrawide and 120 FPS, plus upscaling through TSR, DLSS 3.7, FSR 3.1 and XeSS 1.3.
Quality, and that is an unusual call. Performance mode cuts reflections, shadows, global illumination and volumetric fog, and still struggles to hold 60 FPS when the game pushes.
Dynamic 1440p at 30 FPS in quality mode, and dynamic 1080p at 60 FPS in performance, dropping below that resolution under load.
Above all in large interiors with a lot of indirect light, where global illumination and volumetric fog carry the scene.
It arrived by surprise more than a year later and the analysis calls it well optimised. Series X has the same two modes as PS5 and holds a steadier frame rate, up to 10 FPS ahead, though its average resolution sits slightly lower. Series S gets a single 30 FPS mode.
Better reflections and global illumination, though a year on it was still carrying visual artefacts caused by PSSR.
On PC yes, according to PCGamingWiki. Nothing is published about ray tracing on the console versions.
We do not know: we have no measurements of our own for this game and we will not guess. What is confirmed is 120 FPS, ultrawide and five upscaling technologies, plus frame generation from DLSS and FSR.
Yes on PC, with widescreen resolution support. Multi-monitor is not supported and the field of view only moves with tweaks.
The cheapest key is on PC, at 20.98 €, with a gift copy at 24.35 €. There is no PS5 key: what exists is an account offer at 12.58 € and a physical edition at 49.99 €. Watch out for account offers, cheaper because they are not a purchase in your name.
