Quick verdict

The best measured version of Oddworld: Soulstorm is the PS5 one.

Best graphics experience PS5 native 1440p with better shadows and textures than PS4
Best console experience PS5 the only one at 1440p and with the frame time spikes smoothed out
Best for the money PS4 the same native 1080p as PS4 Pro

Why PS5 wins

PS5 renders at a native 2560x1440 against the 1920x1080 of PS4 and PS4 Pro, and improves both shadow and texture quality. It also smooths out the frame time spikes the PS4 consoles hit at checkpoints, without removing them entirely.

PS4 and PS4 Pro

They share the same native 1920x1080, so on resolution the Pro adds nothing over the base console in this test. Both carry the same frame time spikes at checkpoints.

PC and Xbox: no data

There are no published analyses with resolutions or frame rates for the PC or Xbox versions, so those cells stay empty. On PC, of course, resolution and settings are yours to choose.

Even PS5 is not fully clear of it: small drops still happen when you pass a checkpoint.
