On console, Mortal Shell holds its resolution better on Xbox Series X than on PS5.
Both big consoles target 1800p with temporal upsampling, but in the heaviest scene of the test PS5 drops further than Series X, which stays at roughly 2560x1440. The gap is small, yet it is the only direct measurement between the two.
PS5 reached a fixed 1800p with patch 1.000.004 and moved to a dynamic resolution with 1.000.005, ranging from 3200x1800 down to about 2304x1296 with temporal reconstruction. That second patch also improved performance.
Series S got its own update with two modes. Cinematic reaches 3200x1800 while performance peaks at 1080p, dipping to roughly 1344x756. The same patch fixed the texture streaming problems it used to have.
⚠ The measurements date from April 2021 and from different patches on each console: there is no single side-by-side test of all three versions.

Resolution, modes and FPS come from the video analyses above. The rest is published by each platform's official store and by the game's technical sheet on PC. Where nobody publishes the figure we put a dash, not a guess.

Xbox is the Series X column unless Series S is stated. Resolution, modes, FPS, VRR and download size come from the videos; HDR, ray tracing and PC features from the technical sheet and the official Xbox catalogue.
Since patch 1.000.005 it uses a dynamic resolution, peaking at 3200x1800 and bottoming out around 2304x1296, reconstructed to 1800p with temporal upsampling. Before that patch it was a fixed 3200x1800.
Both target 1800p, but Series X holds its resolution better: in the heaviest scene of the test it does not drop below roughly 2560x1440, while PS5 falls further.
Two, since the 60 FPS update: cinematic, which reaches 3200x1800 and reconstructs to 1800p, and performance, which runs between 1920x1080 and about 1344x756 reconstructed to 1080p.
Yes. The same update that added the two modes improved the texture streaming issues the console had.
No. The technical analyses we work from measure PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, so we publish no resolution or performance figures for PC or last-gen consoles.
