The best version of Monster Hunter Wilds is the PC one, and on console PS5 Pro leads.
PC wins on the two things that separate this game: it has the highest shadow and texturing resolution of any version, and it shares ray-traced reflections with PS5 Pro but renders them at higher resolution. The analysis tested maxed-out settings with ray tracing on cards from the RTX 4060 Ti to the 5090, and concludes that with DLSS any RTX 40 or 50 card runs it maxed out at its recommended resolution. We have no FPS measurements of our own for this game.
On console, PS5 and Series X are identical: three modes at dynamic 1800p with FSR and ~30 FPS, 1440p at ~40 and 1080p at ~60, with typical resolutions of 1620p, 1224p and 900p. PS5 Pro pushes resolution mode to dynamic 2160p with PSSR, is the only console with ray-traced reflections, and improves shadows and draw distance. The analyst calls it the console version to get.
Series S is left with a single mode at dynamic 1080p with FSR, 900p typical and ~30 FPS, on settings equivalent to everyone else039;s performance mode. Every console can unlock the frame rate. On price PS5 is cheapest: 22.99 € for the key and 15.99 € for the disc. The PC key is 23.99 € and the Xbox key 32.29 €.
⚠ RE Engine still has unfinished business with performance on large maps, and this game is further proof.

Resolution, modes and FPS come from the video analyses above. The rest is published by each platform's official store and by the game's technical sheet on PC. Where nobody publishes the figure we put a dash, not a guess.

Xbox is the Series X column unless Series S is stated. Resolution, modes, FPS, VRR and download size come from the videos; HDR, ray tracing and PC features from the technical sheet and the official Xbox catalogue.
PC. It has the highest shadow and texturing resolution, and although PS5 Pro also has ray-traced reflections, PC renders them at higher resolution. Among consoles, the best image is PS5 Pro.
Three on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X: resolution, balanced and performance, running at ~30, ~40 and ~60 FPS. Xbox Series S has only one, at ~30 FPS. All of them can unlock the frame rate.
PS5 and Series X share the same numbers: dynamic 1800p with FSR (1620p typical) in resolution, 1440p (1224p) in balanced and 1080p (900p) in performance. PS5 Pro climbs to dynamic 2160p with PSSR (1800p typical) and uses 1440p (1404p) and 1080p in the other two modes.
It pushes resolution mode to dynamic 2160p with PSSR, is the only console with ray-traced reflections, and improves shadows and draw distance over every other platform. It loses ray tracing in performance mode.
With clear cuts. It has a single display mode at dynamic 1080p with FSR (900p typical) and ~30 FPS, on settings close to the performance mode of PS5 and Series X. The frame rate can be unlocked there too.
On PC yes, and on console only PS5 Pro, in reflections and outside performance mode. The official Xbox catalogue does not declare ray tracing for this game.
We have no FPS measurements of our own for this game. The video analysis says that with DLSS any RTX 40 or 50 series card runs it maxed out at its recommended resolution, and it tested everything from an RTX 4060 Ti to a 5090.
On PC, DLSS 4, FSR 4 and XeSS 1.3.0, plus frame generation with DLSS FG, DLSS MFG and FSR FG. On console, FSR on PS5, Series X and Series S, and PSSR on PS5 Pro.
That is its weak spot. The analysis keeps returning to RE Engine's unfinished business with large maps, and back in the November 2024 beta the frame rate was irregular on every platform.
PS5: the key is 22.99 € and the disc 15.99 €. The PC key goes to 23.99 € and the Xbox key to 32.29 €. Watch out for account offers (11.29 € on PC, 14.26 € on PS5), cheaper because they are not a purchase in your name.
