Quick verdict

The best version of Lies of P is the PC one. On console, Series X and PS5 are level and Series X edges it on stability.

Best graphics experience PC RTX 4090: 317-376 fps at 1080p on the Very high preset
Best console experience Xbox Series X same 2160p at 60 fps as PS5, but it stutters less
Best if you are still on PS4 PS4 Pro 1440p and ~50 fps from 1080p, against PS4's 1080p
Cheapest key PC the cheapest key, ahead of Xbox and PS5

Why PC wins

PC is the only version with free settings, ultrawide, FSR 3.1 and DLSS 3.1, and the game runs light: of the 27 cards we measured on the Very high preset, an RTX 4090 gives 317-376 FPS at 1080p and a Radeon RX 6900 XT still holds 196-220.

PS5 and Series X

PS5 and Series X share the same numbers: 2160p at 30 FPS in quality, 2160p at 60 in performance, and a quality mode with HFR at 40 FPS if your display does 120 Hz. The gap is in how they hold up: Series X runs a little steadier and PS5 stutters slightly more.

Series S and PS4

Below that, Series S gets a single mode at 1440p and 40 FPS, with cuts to reflections, shadows and terrain, and dips to 30. PS4 runs at 1080p and around 40 FPS, unevenly and with no way to lock the frame rate.

All of these figures come from two analyses made with the demo, so the final build may differ.

Lies of P on PS5, Xbox Series and PC: graphics comparison

  • The comparison was made with the demo, so the final quality may differ.
  • PS5 and Series X have two modes: quality at 2160p and 30 FPS, reconstructed from 1440p, and performance at 2160p and 60 FPS, from 1080p.
  • Both add a quality mode with HFR: 2160p at 40 FPS if your display does 120 Hz.
  • Quality mode raises resolution, reflections and shadows over performance mode.
  • Series S only has one mode in this demo: 1440p at 40 FPS, reconstructed from 972p, with cuts to reflections, shadows and terrain detail, and dips to 30 FPS.
  • Performance on Series X is a little steadier than on PS5, which stutters slightly more.
  • Load times are almost level, with a minimal edge for PC and then PS5, and PC optimisation is good even without dedicated drivers.

Lies of P on PS4, PS4 Pro and PS5: graphics comparison

  • This one was also made with the demo, so the figures may change in the final build.
  • PS4 runs at 1080p and around 40 FPS, reconstructed from 900p; PS4 Pro climbs to 1440p and around 50 FPS, from 1080p.
  • PS4 and PS4 Pro lower quality across the board, and the cuts show most in texturing and terrain detail.
  • PS5 improves shadows and draw distance, and adds the quality mode with HFR at 40 FPS on 120 Hz displays.
  • Performance on PS4 and PS4 Pro is uneven, and he misses an option to lock the frame rate.
  • Load times on PS5 are half those of PS4, though still slow by current standards.
