Quick verdict

Hell is Us looks best on PC, and among consoles Xbox Series X holds the highest resolution.

Best graphics experience PC free settings, DLSS and multi frame generation on RTX 50
Best console experience Xbox Series X higher average resolution than PS5 with the same two modes
Best for the money Xbox Series X the cheapest keys in the comparison

Why PC wins

PC combines free settings with a solid DLSS implementation and multi frame generation on the RTX 50 series, to the point that Ultra runs above 100 FPS. Of the 30 cards we measured on the Max preset, the RTX 5090 hits 98-108 FPS and the RTX 4080 lands at 69-77, so without upscaling the game asks for real hardware.

On console

Series X and PS5 get the same two modes, and the difference lies in the graphics settings rather than resolution: resolution barely changes how this game looks. Even so, Series X holds a higher average than PS5. PS5 Pro keeps a few quality settings inside performance mode, but with no notable differences.

Two warnings

PSSR in performance mode carries the usual Unreal Engine 5 problems, such as flicker in ambient occlusion, and the analysis recommends switching it off. And Xbox Series S is stuck with a single mode locked at 30 FPS.

On Xbox Series S there is no choice of mode: one only, locked at 30 FPS.

Frequently asked questions about Hell is Us

Which platform does Hell is Us look best on?

PC, thanks to free settings and a solid DLSS implementation with multi frame generation on the RTX 50 series. On console, Xbox Series X holds a higher average resolution than PS5.

How many graphics modes does it have on console?

Two on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X. Xbox Series S gets only one, locked at 30 FPS. The difference between modes lies in the graphics settings, not the resolution.

What does PS5 Pro add?

It keeps some quality mode settings inside performance mode, but the analysis finds no notable differences against PS5. What it does recommend is turning PSSR off in performance mode.

Why turn PSSR off?

Because in performance mode it carries the usual Unreal Engine 5 problems, with flicker in ambient occlusion. Switching it off leaves a more stable image.

What graphics card do I need on PC?

Of the 30 cards we measured on the Max preset, the RTX 5090 hits 98-108 FPS, the RTX 4090 81-89 and the RTX 4080 69-77. With DLSS and multi frame generation on RTX 50, the analysis puts the game on Ultra above 100 FPS with any model.
