Quick verdict

Forza Horizon 6 looks best on PC, and on console the reference is Xbox Series X.

Best graphics experience PC ray-traced reflections and lighting, DLSS and MFG
Best console experience Xbox Series X two display modes and a locked 60 FPS in performance
Best for the money Xbox Series X the cheapest keys and the longest list of offers

Why PC wins

PC is the only version with ray-traced reflections and lighting, partial as they are, and it supports DLSS with multi frame generation. The optimisation is among the best of the year: an RTX 3050 already reaches 60 FPS on high settings. Of the 29 cards we measured on the Extreme preset, the RTX 5090 hits 179-206 FPS and the RTX 4080 lands at 115-131.

On console

Series X and Series S share two display modes. Performance mode cuts lighting, level of detail and resolution to lock a solid 60 FPS, exactly as Forza Horizon 5 did. Series X is where those cuts show least.

No PlayStation data

The available technical analysis covers Xbox Series and PC, not the PS5 build. We have no resolutions or frame rates to quote for that console, so its column stays empty.

The DLSS 5 video uses a tweaked mod, not an official implementation in the game.

Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox Series and PC: graphics comparison

  • Forza Horizon 6 has two display modes on Xbox Series S and Series X: quality and performance.
  • As in Forza Horizon 5, performance mode sacrifices lighting, level of detail and resolution on both consoles to lock a solid 60 FPS.
  • The PC version adds ray-traced reflections and lighting, partial in both cases, and it shows in certain areas.
  • He calls the PC optimisation flawless: an RTX 3050 already reaches 60 FPS on high settings.
  • With any RTX 50 from the 5060 Ti up, the game clears 150 FPS at 4K on Extreme with ray tracing, thanks to DLSS and MFG.
  • His verdict: a visual treat with one of the best optimisation jobs of the year.

Forza Horizon 6 with DLSS 5 on and off

  • The DLSS 5 build he tests is a tweaked mod, not an official implementation.
  • DLSS 5's neural rendering noticeably improves global illumination over the base RTGi.
  • Vegetation gains the most, with more accurate ambient occlusion.
  • He reads it as an early glimpse of what DLSS 5 will be able to do.

Full platform comparison

Resolution, modes and FPS come from the video analyses above. The rest is published by each platform's official store and by the game's technical sheet on PC. Where nobody publishes the figure we put a dash, not a guess.

Frequently asked questions about Forza Horizon 6

Which platform does Forza Horizon 6 look best on?

PC, the only version with ray-traced reflections and lighting, partial as they are, and the only one with DLSS and multi frame generation. On console, the reference is Xbox Series X.

What graphics card do I need on PC?

Less than you might think: an RTX 3050 already reaches 60 FPS on high settings. Of the 29 cards we measured on the Extreme preset, the RTX 5090 hits 179-206 FPS, the RTX 5080 155-173 and the RTX 4080 115-131.

How many graphics modes does it have on Xbox?

Two, quality and performance, on both Series X and Series S. Performance mode cuts lighting, level of detail and resolution to hold a solid 60 FPS.

Is ray tracing worth turning on?

It is PC-only and adds ray-traced reflections and lighting, partial in both cases, with a clear difference in certain areas. From an RTX 5060 Ti up you can play at 4K on Extreme with ray tracing above 150 FPS thanks to DLSS and MFG.

How does it run on PS5?

We do not know. The available technical analysis compares Xbox Series with PC and does not cover the PS5 build, so there are no resolution or frame rate figures to quote for that console.
