Quick verdict

Evil Dead: The Game looks best on PC, and only PS5 and Xbox Series X hold 60 FPS on console.

Best graphics experience PC 2160p and the only version with DLSS
Best console experience PS5 2160p with a locked 60 FPS, level with Series X
Best for the money Xbox Series S reaches 2160p with current-gen settings

Why PC wins

The PC build is the only one with DLSS, and it was tested at 2160p on an RTX 3080. Since every other platform leans on temporal upsampling to hit its target resolution, this is where the image stays cleanest.

On console

PS5 and Xbox Series X are the only two versions with a locked 60 FPS, and both render at 2160p. They run so closely that the analysis finds nothing to separate them.

What to know about Series S

Series S keeps settings very close to the rest of the current-gen builds and still reaches 2160p, but it sits at around 35 FPS. It gets the most out of the least hardware here.

Outside PS5 and Xbox Series X the frame rate runs unlocked and uneven, with no option to cap it.

Evil Dead: The Game across PlayStation, Xbox and PC: every version compared

  • Every version uses temporal upsampling (TAAU) to reach its output resolution; the PC build adds DLSS on top.
  • PS5 and Xbox Series X run at 2160p with a locked 60 FPS; Series S also reaches 2160p but sits at around 35 FPS.
  • PS4 runs at 1080p with around 35 FPS, and PS4 Pro climbs to 1296p with around 45 FPS.
  • Xbox One runs at 1080p with around 35 FPS, and Xbox One X at 1620p with around 45 FPS.
  • The current-gen versions carry more geometry, and Series S keeps settings very close to the rest of them.
  • Xbox One has worse vegetation and shadows than the others, although some of its textures beat the PS4 ones.
  • Every version except PS5 and Series X runs with an unlocked, patchy frame rate; a cap option is sorely missed.
  • Loading times are better on Xbox One than on PS4, and very close between PS5 and Series S/X.
