Quick verdict

The most complete version of EA Sports FC 26 is on PC; on console PS5 leads, and Switch 2 is the jump of the year.

Best graphics experience PC 30 of the 31 measured cards clear 60 FPS at 1080p
Best console experience PS5 two modes, and this year's work went into ambient occlusion
Most fluidity for the money PS4 a 60 FPS target, at the same resolution as Switch 2
Best on the go Switch 2 matches PS5 in most areas, though only at 30 FPS

Why PC wins

PC is the only version where you set the settings yourself, and PCGamingWiki credits it with HDR, ray tracing, 4K and 120 FPS that no other version confirms. On the Ultra preset we measured 31 graphics cards: 30 clear 60 FPS at 1080p, and the only one that dips below in the bad moments is the RTX 3060, which runs between 44 and 124. At 1440p 24 still hold above 60, and at 4K, 13.

On console, PS5

On console the reference is PS5: two display modes, graphics/quality and resolution, with this year’s work going into ambient occlusion and lighting. Xbox Series has neither a video analysis nor a single flag in the official catalogue, so we leave it out of the table. We would rather have the gap than fill it in.

Switch 2, the surprise

Switch 2 is the surprise. It keeps the PS5 lighting and Hypermotion and matches PS5 and Xbox Series in most areas, cutting hair, textures and physics. The bill comes in fluidity: 30 FPS at the same resolution as PS4, which does aim for 60.

In a football game Switch 2's 30 FPS matter, and the analysis itself calls it a risky call.

EA Sports FC 26 on Switch 2, PS4 and PS5: graphics comparison

  • PS5 has two display modes: graphics/quality and resolution.
  • As with FC 25, the changes sit in ambient occlusion and a few small lighting improvements.
  • Switch 2 is a hybrid of the old-gen and current-gen versions: it keeps the PS5 lighting and Hypermotion, with cuts to hair quality, textures and physics.
  • Visually Switch 2 is well ahead of PS4. In exchange, PS4 aims for 60 FPS and Switch 2 settles for 30 at the same resolution.
  • His read: EA took a risk putting visual fidelity ahead of fluidity in a sports game.

EA Sports FC 26 on Switch and Switch 2: final graphics comparison

  • It is the biggest visual upgrade he has seen going from Switch to Switch 2, and one of the biggest generational jumps in years.
  • Switch 2 lifts every graphics setting until it matches the PS5 and Xbox Series version in most areas.
  • Models, physics, lighting, animations, textures and effects all change: it is practically another game next to the Switch version.
  • The one downside is that the frame rate stays at 30 FPS, same as on Switch. With that visual jump, he calls it unavoidable.

Frequently asked questions about EA SPORTS FC 26

Which platform does EA Sports FC 26 look best on?

PC, because it is the only version with free settings and the only one PCGamingWiki credits with HDR, ray tracing, 4K and 120 FPS. Among consoles the visual reference is PS5, and Switch 2 gets close in most areas.

What changes on Switch 2 compared to Switch?

Almost everything. The analysis calls it the biggest visual jump he has seen between the two consoles: models, physics, lighting, animations, textures and effects. What does not change is the frame rate, still 30 FPS.

Does Switch 2 look like PS5?

In most areas, yes. It keeps the PS5 lighting and Hypermotion, and the cuts land on hair quality, textures and physics. The real gap is fluidity, not the image.

What frame rate does it run at on console?

The analysis confirms a 60 FPS target on PS4 and 30 FPS on Switch 2 and Switch. It publishes no figure for PS5 or Xbox Series, so we do not give one. These are numbers observed in the video analyses, not a measurement of ours.

Is the PS4 version worth it?

If fluidity is what you want, yes: it is the only console where the analysis confirms a 60 FPS target, and it renders at the same resolution as Switch 2. In exchange, its graphics tier sits below Switch 2.

What about the Xbox version?

We have no data. There is no video analysis of the Xbox Series version and the official catalogue declares no capabilities for this game, so we leave it out of the comparison.

What graphics card do I need on PC?

On the Ultra preset we measured 31 cards at 1080p and 30 of them clear 60 FPS. The RTX 3060 is the only one that falls short in the worst moments, at 44-124. At 1440p 24 cards hold 60 FPS, and at 4K, 13.

Does it have ray tracing or 120 FPS?

On PC PCGamingWiki flags both, plus HDR and 4K. What PC does not get is upscaling: no DLSS, no FSR, no XeSS. On console nothing is published.

Which one is cheapest?

The cheapest key is on Xbox. Above it sit PS4, Switch 2, PS5 and PC. Prices move every day: the live ones are on each version’s page. Watch out for account offers, cheaper because they are not a purchase in your name.
