The best version of DOOM: The Dark Ages is the PC one, and between consoles there is barely a gap.
PC is the only platform using ray tracing, and the only one that got path tracing in a later update. It is also the only one with free settings, ultrawide support and DLSS 4.5, FSR 3.1 and XeSS 2.0, frame generation and multi-frame included.
There is plenty of headroom on performance: we measured 30 cards at the Ultra Nightmare preset, and the RTX 5090 delivers 153-163 FPS while the RTX 4090 sits at 130-145. No console plays in that range.
Between consoles the gap is tiny. All three hold a rock-solid 60 FPS with one single mode. Series X keeps a slightly higher average resolution than PS5, and PS5 answers with a bit more vegetation and terrain. PS5 Pro raises the resolution ceiling to 1662p and improves anisotropic filtering. Xbox Series S is the exception: it sits at a dynamic 831p upscaled to 1080p and cuts detail, draw distance, textures and lighting.
⚠ The analysis itself calls PS5 Pro's gains marginal.

Resolution, modes and FPS come from the video analyses above. The rest is published by each platform's official store and by the game's technical sheet on PC. Where nobody publishes the figure we put a dash, not a guess.

Xbox is the Series X column unless Series S is stated. Resolution, modes, FPS, VRR and download size come from the videos; HDR, ray tracing and PC features from the technical sheet and the official Xbox catalogue.

PC. It is the only one with ray tracing and the only one that got path tracing, on top of having free settings. Among consoles the best image is PS5 Pro, but only just.
None to choose from: all three consoles have a single display mode at 60 FPS. There is no quality mode and no performance mode.
Xbox Series X and PS5 start from a dynamic 1440p upscaled to 2160p. PS5 Pro raises that starting point to 1662p. On PC the comparison was run at 2160p with maximum settings.
Very little. Series X holds a slightly higher average resolution, and PS5 adds small gains in vegetation and terrain. Both nail 60 FPS.
Not much. The analysis calls its gains marginal: a higher peak resolution, better anisotropic filtering and a bit more draw distance. The frame rate does not change.
According to the video analysis, no: PC is the only platform that uses it. The official Xbox catalogue does carry the ray tracing tag for this game, so the two sources disagree here and we would rather say so.
It arrived after launch and it is PC-exclusive. No console version has it.
We measured 30 cards at the Ultra Nightmare preset. The RTX 5090 delivers 153-163 FPS, the RTX 4090 130-145, the RX 9070 XT 111-128 and the RTX 5080 112-125. On the requirements landing you can pick your own card and see the exact figure.
Yes, and on every platform, not just PC. The video comparison used a FOV of 105.
The cheapest key is on PC at 14.44 €, with Xbox right behind at 16.49 €. On PS5 the only key is the PlayStation Store one at 79.99 €. The analysis itself points out that Game Pass is the cheapest way to play it. Watch out for account offers, which come out cheaper because they are not a purchase in your name.
