Travis Touchdown is coming back. News broke on 3 November that Goichi Suda, better known as Suda51, has officially confirmed a return for the No More Heroes assassin to mark the series' 20th anniversary, which falls next year. Grasshopper Manufacture is working with Marvelous Entertainment, which owns the IP, on a "special project" celebrating the original Wii release.
It's a surprise, because Suda had said No More Heroes 3 was the end of Travis's story.
What Suda51 has and hasn't confirmed
Travis returns, and that's about it. Nobody has said whether the project is a new game, a remake or a collection, and there's no word on platforms or a release date. Anything beyond that is guesswork for now, so we'll wait for the next announcement.
No More Heroes 3 on PC has never been this cheap
If the news has you wanting to finish the trilogy (or start it), the third game is the obvious place to look. This morning G2A had the Steam Key for €0.95 with coupon GCKG2AP3R9D (€1.24 with fees). Steam itself asks €39.99 (no fees).
That's 63% under its usual price: the key's historical median is €2.60 (no fees), and in 281 days of tracking we had never seen it lower. Over the past few months the cheapest offer each month has sat between €2.02 and €2.46 (no fees or coupons, and that series mixes formats), so today's deal really does stand out.
On Steam it has "Very Positive" reviews: 681 of 851, about 80%. The key is redeemed in your own Steam account and the game stays in your library.
The first game is half its usual price
The original Wii game, the one the anniversary is celebrating, is also on PC. No More Heroes is €7.09 with coupon GOCDKEYS10 at Driffle (€7.75 with fees), Steam Key. Its median is €15.85 (no fees), so it's 55% below normal. It isn't the all-time low, which was €3.57 (no fees), but in 955 days of data it has only been cheaper on 44.
Part 2 and Travis Strikes Again can wait
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle has no Steam Key offers right now. The best option is a Steam Gift at Gamivo for €15.48 with coupon GCDKGamivo (€17.01 with fees), which arrives as a gift in your Steam account. There's a Steam Account at Key4Games for €12.33 with GOCDKEYS16 (€13.05 with fees), but that's access to someone else's account, so the game is never in your name. We'd skip it. With a median of €16.99 (no fees), it's a normal price, not a deal.
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Complete Edition is €33.99 (no fees) on Steam and no reseller beats that today. It has dropped to €9.99 (no fees) before, so a price alert makes more sense than paying full price.
Should you buy before the announcement?
For the third game, yes: at €1.24 with fees there's not much to think about, and we don't know how long the coupon will last. All the offers to buy No More Heroes 3 key are on its page. For the second one, set a price alert and we'll email you if it drops.
Prices checked on the morning of 8 November.
