Formatting game accounts is a bit trickier, but if you follow the steps below you should have no complications.
IMPORTANT: Each store may offer different account activation methods, so please pay attention to each store on how to activate your account, as this guide is for guidance only. Also, this format is only guaranteed if the game is in English, although it can also be in other languages.
The account format is how the game is delivered. I'm sure you've heard of game sharing, it's a way to buy a game on one account and share the game license to another console, that's exactly what the account format is known as.
Games that are delivered through the account format will be delivered instantly. Right after the purchase, you will receive an email with some necessary credentials with instructions. Many of the stores listed on Gocdkeys have live chat for any questions you may have.
The installation takes a maximum of 5 minutes, and is carried out as follows:
FOR INSTALLING
Step 1: Disconnect from the internet.
Step 2: Change the time zone to a country where the current local time is between 2:30 AM and 3:30 AM.
Step 3: Access the profile that was sent to you by email. This is usually done by logging in from another device and sending the code that appears to the seller so they can authorize your access to that account.
Step 4: Download the game.
Step 5: Log out of the seller’s account once the game starts downloading.
FOR PLAYING
Step 1: Open the seller’s account. The Screen Time window will appear; press NEXT, and the profile will close.
Step 2: Go to Settings > Network and select Disconnect.
Step 3: Open your PERSONAL profile (the one you will use to play) and change the time zone so that the time is between 2:30 AM and 3:30 AM.
Step 4: Open the seller’s game profile. If everything was done correctly, the game profile will stay open.
Step 5: Without closing either of the two sessions, switch back to YOUR PERSONAL PROFILE, turn the internet back on, and change the time zone back to your normal one, or preferably so that the time shows PM. The exact time does not matter here as long as it is in PM.
Step 6: If everything was done correctly, both profiles will remain open. At this point, open the game and continue until you reach the main menu or where the opening cutscenes begin.
Final step: Once you are inside the game, log out of the seller’s profile, so that only your personal profile, the one you will use to play, remains open.
Important: This method only gives you a few hours of gameplay. If you want to extend the playtime, you will need to repeat the steps again.
Important: Remember that both the activation and the content of this type of formats may vary depending on the store, and Gocdkeys is not responsible for any problems that may occur. Do not forget also that this guide is merely indicative, you should pay attention to all the steps provided by the store where you buy the game.
Examples of Xbox games you can redeem on Xbox Network using digital keys
This redemption process applies to most digital Xbox games purchased as a digital key or Xbox code. Below are some well-known examples of games that can be activated on Xbox Network using this method.
For example, in the case of Grand Theft Auto V, the activation process is the same as the one described above after purchasing the Xbox key. Simply sign in to your Microsoft account and, within the Microsoft Store or directly from your Xbox console, go to the “Redeem a code” section to enter the alphanumeric code you received and add the game to your library.
Other games that can be taken as examples include EA Sports FC 26, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 or Battlefield 6, highly demanded titles that offer digital keys for activation on Xbox Network. In all these cases, the process to redeem the key is the same: access your Microsoft account and use the “Redeem code” option to integrate the digital key.
The Xbox Network activation system always works in the same way. Therefore, any new release on Xbox consoles, such as the upcoming Forza Horizon 6, will follow this same activation procedure. If you have already activated a game using this method, redeeming any other title in the future will be quick and straightforward.

Do you need balance or a subscription to buy games or digital content on the Microsoft Store?
Many Xbox players use prepaid gift cards to add funds to their account without entering payment details, as they are compatible with all digital purchases: full games, DLC, in-game currency or Game Pass renewals. If you want to top up your account before redeeming a code or taking advantage of a discount, these options are the most commonly used:
Xbox Gift Cards (from$5 to $100) – add credit to your Microsoft account to buy games, DLC or additional content without using traditional payment methods.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 12 Months – the most complete Xbox subscription, including console, PC, online multiplayer and EA Play.
Digital cards provide instant delivery and give you the flexibility to adjust your balance according to each purchase, whether you want to buy a specific game or prepare for upcoming discounts. They are one of the easiest and safest ways to manage your Xbox digital wallet, especially if you prefer manual control over your Game Pass renewals.
