Giveaways and auctions: why you need to actually follow us

If you've earned tickets by following us on social media, this one's for you. Here's how we check winners before handing over a prize, and what happens if someone isn't really following us.

Why following us gives you tickets straight away

Following us on social media is one of the missions that earn tickets. These are the accounts that count right now:

• Follow us on X: x.com/gocdkeys (+10 tickets)
• Follow us on Facebook: facebook.com/gocdkeys (+10 tickets)
• Join r/Gocdkeys on Reddit: reddit.com/r/Gocdkeys/ (+10 tickets)

So you don't have to wait, we don't check at that moment: you tap the button, our account opens, you come back and collect your tickets. We trust you. But those tickets are for following us, not for tapping a button.

What we check before handing over a prize

When someone wins a giveaway or an auction, we look at how they earned their tickets before we send the prize. If some of them come from following us on social media, we check that they really do follow us on each of those networks, and we may ask for their username there. The same goes for every other mission: Discord, Telegram, reviews, purchases, invited friends…

What happens if you don't follow us

Tickets you collected by tapping "Follow" without actually following us are cancelled. So are the tickets of anyone who followed us just to collect them and unfollowed afterwards. If you wouldn't have won without those tickets, the prize isn't handed over.

We don't give any prize to someone who just tapped the button and doesn't really follow us.

Why we do it

First, it's only fair to everyone who plays by the rules: nobody should walk away with a prize, and take it from someone else, using tickets they didn't earn. Second, following us is how you help us grow: the more people follow us, the more stores and brands notice GoCDKeys, and the more giveaways, auctions and prizes we can run. It costs you one click and it helps us a lot.

How to do it right

1. Tap the button and actually follow the account before you come back to collect your tickets.
2. Keep following us until you've received your prize. Better still, stick around: that's where we post deals, new giveaways and winners.
3. If you win, have your username ready for each network where you follow us.
