What do you guys think of the new CoDs?

Hi everyone! I'd like to know what you think about the recent Call of Duty games, because by now they leave me pretty indifferent: I don't find them terrible, but I don't find them particularly good either.

The single player campaigns don't tell real stories anymore, they feel like "filler" thrown in just to pad the numbers. On the multiplayer side, it's the same story: the mechanics are always the same, especially in the last 2-3 Modern Warfare games. Even the latest one, Black Ops 7, isn't giving me any joy: it's a good game too, sure, but it totally lacks that "wow" effect or the genuine fun of the old days.

Luckily, though, it looks like the next one, "Modern Warfare 4", is about to come out, and from what we've seen it really looks promising in terms of story, gameplay and multiplayer, giving me back a bit of faith in the series.

What do you guys think? Do you agree, or can you still enjoy them like you used to?

To me they're just really repetitive now, they're always the same and end up being disappointing. I think they should put out a new IP or reboot the franchise, it makes no sense to keep going like this year after year because they get worse every year

I consider myself kind of an old-timer in CoD. Black Ops 2 was the last line of a good game for me and I haven't enjoyed playing since, I mean they're fine, but they feel too recycled or oversaturated. You'll laugh at me, but when I played COD United Offensive back in the day (when you didn't have infinite health, you had to look for health around the map), the weapon damage and the weapon models, the base assault modes with tanks, anti-tank guns like the flak 88, and the only killstreak was when you leveled up from kills, or capturing flags, destroying bunkers, you started getting more ammo, explosive packs and ended up with the binoculars to call in artillery strikes)

The rest depended solely on your skill, I miss that essence so much.

for me, the two CODs that hit me the most were Infinite Warfare and Advanced Warfare, to me they were really well made, especially different in the gameplay and the story, and the zombies mode was another way of doing it, really awesome, but still nothing compared to BO2 or the classic old MW2

I hope Captain Price, Gaz or Ghost won't die, because if everyone dies, it's going to be a bad game. They are just doing the same thing as the old 2007-2011 CoD games.
