Quick verdict

The best version of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the PC one, and on console PS5 leads.

Best graphics experience PC up to 4K and 120 fps; an RTX 4090 gives 89-99 fps at 1080p on Epic
Best console experience PS5 same two modes as Series X; the Pro only adds resolution
Cheapest key PC 19.70 € at Driffle, against 29.25 € on Xbox and 39.99 € on PS5
The version with the most cuts Xbox Series S a single 30 fps mode and weaker global illumination on top

Why PC wins

On PC you decide: resolution up to 4K, 120 FPS and four upscalers to pick from, TSR, FSR 4, DLSS 3.7 and XeSS 2, with frame generation from all three vendors. We measured 30 cards on the Epic preset: an RTX 5090 gives 99-111 FPS at 1080p, an RTX 4090 89-99 and an RX 9070 XT 82-92.

On console

On console the gaps are small. PS5, PS5 Pro and Series X share the same two modes, 30 FPS in quality and 60 in performance, with dynamic upscaled resolution in both. All PS5 Pro adds is a higher average resolution.

Series S and prices

Series S pays the bill: a single display mode at 30 FPS, running performance-mode settings with weaker global illumination. And on price, the cheapest key is on PC at 19.70 €, against 29.25 € on Xbox and 39.99 € on PS5.
