The False Alice: Retold Tale is a choice-driven visual novel set in the Remnant World, a liminal space where failed creations from abandoned fairy tales—known as Alters—are cast away. You awaken as an amnesiac protagonist called Sensei, encountering three distinct versions of Alice: Prima the Destroyer, Secunda the Hunter, and Tertia the Sorcerer. Each is a failed attempt at creating the true Alice from Lewis Carroll's classic, and they are bound by a cruel law: failed creations who share the same name must kill one another until only one remains worthy of becoming "real."

The core gameplay loop centers on decision-making at pivotal story moments. Your choices directly influence character survival, relationships, and the narrative's outcome, leading to multiple distinct endings. Unlike traditional branching narratives, your decisions carry weight—they can alter the fates of the three Alices and determine whether Sensei can forge a path that breaks the cycle of mutual destruction.

Developed by VISUAL ARTS and team Aeca, this title expands upon the original mobile game with entirely new scenarios, enhanced character animations, expanded backgrounds, original musical compositions, and refined visual presentation. The narrative explores themes of identity, destiny, and the possibility of rewriting predetermined outcomes through human connection and choice.

The False Alice: Retold Tale appeals to visual novel enthusiasts who appreciate character-driven stories with psychological depth, dark fantasy settings, and meaningful player agency. The game features Japanese voice acting with English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese text support, making it accessible to an international audience. With its focus on narrative consequence and emotional character arcs, it targets players seeking story-rich experiences that reward multiple playthroughs to uncover all possible endings.
