In the far-future dystopia of 2004, a malevolent A.I. has enslaved humanity while androids enforce its will. One cyborg commando, rebuilt with a human heart and a mission to save mankind, rises from the ashes of battle. Armed to the teeth and fueled by vengeance, you navigate a battleground where every neon-lit street is a warzone.

Steel Legion is a well-crafted metroidvania with four different non-linear stages that include their own bosses, abilities, secrets, keys and quests. Explore in any order the dangerous mines, the wretched sewers, the vicious city-top or the mysterious A.I. base. Use special weapons to break down walls, hyper jump to access previously blocked areas, and special missiles to target hard-to-find switches for blocked doors. All of this requires thoughtful experimentation.

The intricate level design and advanced gameplay have earned the mention of "NES hard" by several fans of the game. The game features high-quality 8-bit pixel art and a thunderous hard rock chiptune soundtrack. Steel Legion includes a setting to toggle French or English language in-game, making it one of the only games with multi-language support like that on the NES.

Steel Legion targets retro gaming enthusiasts and metroidvania fans who appreciate challenging, exploration-driven gameplay with authentic 8-bit presentation. The game's non-linear stage progression and emphasis on ability-gating rewards players who master new weapons and movement techniques to unlock previously inaccessible areas.
