Forts is one of those games of Steam that even beginning in a dissimulated way end up becoming a total success of sales, and not by its technical level or by its overwhelming graphic level, if not by the fun and the entertainment that it can offer, which added to a multiplayer with friends can become a real joy.

Forts is a real-time strategy game, with elements of management and construction, that can combine the most fun action with research and improvement of buildings. It combines strategy and action, and believe me if I say that action is crazy, because while we fight, while we face the threat of the opposite. While our enemy throws all kinds of projectiles, we will have to repel their attack to the time we build, repair and evolve our tower or base, so you will not get bored.

What does it offer?

It offers a unique gaming experience, where we have to build a tower, arm it with all kinds of weapons, we will have a large selection of weapons available, and shoot the enemy tower to knock down as soon as possible. These are the essential foundations of this title, although it has something more depth.

As long as the enemy's constant bombardment takes place, we will have to collect resources, invest these resources in research, and develop the necessary improvements in both structure and weaponry to destroy our enemy.

It has a single player mode consisting of 28 missions, where we can face a competitive AI and train to later move to multiplayer mode, where we will face with up to 8 players in frantic fighting where only will win the most agile and strategist player.

In addition to the action, weapons, research and improvements, there is also a powerful map editor with which we will create our own battlefields and share them with the community.

Factions available

Currently the game has three factions to choose from, each with its unique commanders, who are characters that we deploy in the tower and give us certain skills, and passive skills that offer certain characteristics.

For example, the Eagle Empire has abilities aimed at increasing the accuracy of its units, such as laser pointers for all its snipers or certain special ammunition that will cause great damage to our structure.

The Dragon Army is able to gather cheap labor, which will allow it to make constructions of form cheaper and faster than the rest of factions, as well as all the armament that we´ll construct with this faction will be constructed 400% faster than with the rest, so that in a short time we will have an armed fortification.

The latest faction, the Iron Bear Alliance, is focused on defense and is able to build defenses at a dizzying pace at half the price, and is able to repair structures and weapons much faster than normal.

Here not only plays a fundamental role in collecting resources and knowing where to invest them, the most important thing is to adapt to the advantages of each faction and enhance them to overcome in those aspects our enemies, so the strategic component is very important.

It is very hard to find something in this game that I do not like. I give this game a 10/10 easily. The devs are super friendly, and there is an awesome community on the official Discord. There may be some exploits/bugs, but you report them and they get fixed immediately. The devs also take balancing suggestions very seriously, and take any suggestions they can get. Another thing I like about this game is that it is just USD $15, no added DLCs. Not even the new expansion pack, Tons of Guns is not a DLC, it is a free multiplayer update. In total, at this point, I have over 200 hours on this game. That is the most out of any game that I have on Steam, and it is time well spent.

A strange game, Reminds me a lot of the worms series. But the destruction and physics of the forts are fun to play with. Hopefully you bring a friend to enjoy it.
