Eternal Exodus is a story-driven 2D monster-catching RPG set in the afterlife, where you awaken in a realm far different from what you expected. Rather than clouds or brimstone, you find yourself in a world of religious factions and political turmoil governed by The Crown—a powerful organization that controls access to Ether, a substance granting eternal life. Armed with a Subjugator, a forbidden wrist-worn device, you can summon and command demons to challenge this tyrannical rule.

The core gameplay loop centers on catching and training demons for strategic turn-based combat, then fusing them into more powerful species. Combat rewards tactical play by granting extra turns when you exploit enemy weaknesses, inspired by the press-turn system found in Shin Megami Tensei. Beyond battle, you'll craft weapons and armor that teach demons new spells and passive abilities, adding depth to team composition and progression. The world is expansive, filled with sidequests, minigames, and environmental puzzles that encourage exploration and reward curiosity.

What sets Eternal Exodus apart is its narrative ambition. Rather than the typical "become the best trainer" premise, the story explores profound philosophical themes—metaphysics, free will, social contract theory, reincarnation, and the nature of existence itself. The writing draws inspiration from philosophical and mystical texts, creating a pageturner that recalls the golden era of 90s and early 2000s JRPGs. Your choices matter, and the journey spirals from a simple revolt into something far greater, with consequences that reshape the world around you.

The game targets players seeking substance in their monster-catching experience: those who value compelling narratives alongside engaging mechanics, fans of Shin Megami Tensei and classic JRPGs, and anyone interested in games that blend philosophical depth with accessible gameplay. The 2D presentation and turn-based pacing make it welcoming to both series veterans and newcomers.
