Quick verdict

The cleanest version of Mirage is on PC, and among consoles PS5 Pro is the one that solves it best.

Best graphics experience PC free resolution, HDR, ultrawide and three upscalers
Best console experience PS5 Pro one mode, quality settings and a locked 60fps with PSSR
Best for the money Xbox Series S keeps both graphics modes, with simpler shadows

What PC gives you

It is the only version without fixed modes: resolution up to 4K, HDR, ultrawide, multi-monitor and all three upscalers, DLSS 2.3.1, FSR 2.2 and XeSS 1.2.0. What you will not find here is ray tracing, because the PC version does not ship with it. What you gain is sharpness and control over the settings.

PS5 Pro takes the console crown

PS5 Pro throws out both modes and keeps one, running PS5's quality settings at a locked 60fps: better texturing, vegetation, draw distance, ambient occlusion and reflections. Resolution scales up to 4K with PSSR and the frame rate lands above what PS5 manages in performance mode.

PS5 and Series X are level

Between the two base consoles the gap is a detail. In performance mode they share the same dynamic window, with Series X slightly ahead in individual scenes, and in quality mode both lock to 3840x2160. PS5 does show pixelated fire effects in performance mode. Series S cuts shadow quality in both modes, but it does keep both.

There is no ray tracing on PC here, so no version pulls ahead on lighting: the gap is resolution, shadows and draw distance.

Assassin's Creed Mirage on PS5 and PS5 Pro: graphics comparison

  • PS5 has two modes: quality at 2160p and 30fps, and performance at dynamic 2160p and 60fps.
  • PS5 Pro drops both and leaves a single display mode, dynamic 2160p at 60fps with PSSR.
  • That single mode matches PS5's quality mode, with better texturing, vegetation animation, draw distance, ambient occlusion, reflections and some shadows.
  • Resolution scales from figures close to performance mode up to 4K using PSSR to hold a constant 60fps.
  • As a result, PS5 Pro beats the frame rate PS5 delivers in performance mode.

Assassin's Creed Mirage on PS5 versus Xbox Series X and Series S

  • The version tested was 1.0.2 on all three consoles.
  • PS5 and Series X in performance mode use a dynamic resolution with a maximum of 3840x2160 and a minimum of roughly 2432x1368, and they very rarely render natively at 4K.
  • In some scenes Series X holds a resolution advantage over PS5: 2716x1528 against 2588x1456, and 2858x1608 against 2588x1456.
  • In quality mode the only resolution found on PS5 and Series X is 3840x2160.
  • Series S tops out at 1920x1080 in performance mode (lowest around 1360x765) and at 2880x1620 in quality mode (lowest 2560x1440).
  • Fire effects look pixelated on PS5 in performance mode.
  • Series S has reduced shadow quality against PS5 and Series X in both of its modes.
  • Quality mode improves shadows on all three consoles, and PS5 and Series X also gain level of detail and draw distance.

Assassin's Creed Mirage on PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One S and Xbox One X

  • PS4 uses a dynamic resolution with a maximum of 1920x1080 and a minimum of around 1600x900, reconstructing up to 1080p temporally.
  • Xbox One S sits between 1600x900 and roughly 1344x756, below PS4.
  • PS4 Pro runs from 2560x1440 down to around 2160x1215.
  • Xbox One X reaches 3840x2160 and drops to around 2560x1440, though it very rarely renders natively at 4K.
  • Xbox One X improves level of detail and draw distance over Xbox One S and both PS4 consoles.
  • Against Xbox One X, Series X in performance mode improves shadows and textures and adds ground clutter.

Frequently asked questions about Assassins Creed Mirage

Which platform does Assassin's Creed Mirage look best on?

PC, because it is the only one without fixed modes: it reaches 4K with HDR, ultrawide and all three upscalers. On console the best image is PS5 Pro, which pairs the quality-mode settings with a locked 60fps.

Is there a difference between PS5 and Xbox Series X?

Very little. In performance mode both use the same dynamic resolution, from 2432x1368 up to 3840x2160, with Series X ahead in specific scenes. In quality mode both stay at 3840x2160. The one blemish on PS5 is pixelated fire effects in performance mode.

What does PS5 Pro add?

It keeps a single display mode: PS5's quality settings at a locked 60fps, with resolution scaling up to 4K through PSSR. Texturing, vegetation animation, draw distance, ambient occlusion, reflections and some shadows all improve.

Does it run well on Xbox Series S?

It does, and it keeps both graphics modes. It tops out at 1920x1080 in performance and 2880x1620 in quality, and it lowers shadow quality against PS5 and Series X in both modes.

Is it worth playing on last-gen consoles?

Xbox One X is the strongest of the old group: it reaches 3840x2160 and improves level of detail and draw distance over PS4, PS4 Pro and Xbox One S. PS4 stays at reconstructed 1080p and Xbox One S at 1600x900.

Does it have ray tracing?

Not on PC, according to PCGamingWiki, and none of the console analyses describe ray tracing either. The difference between platforms comes down to resolution, shadows and draw distance.
