The best version of A Plague Tale Requiem is the PC one; on console, Series X holds the steadiest frame rate.
PC reaches 2160p on max settings, with more vegetation and better ambient occlusion, shadows and anisotropic filtering than any console. It was also one of the first games to ship with DLSS 3 and frame generation. Of the 28 cards we measured on the Very high preset, an RTX 3080 Ti sits between 83 and 91 FPS.
PS5 and Series X are level on settings and resolution: 1440p reconstructed to 2160p, 30 FPS at 60 Hz and 40 FPS at 120 Hz. Stability is what separates them, since PS5 dips in some open areas full of rats while Series X holds up better. A later patch added a 120 FPS mode to both.
Series S renders at 900p and reconstructs 1080p, cutting shadows, textures, vegetation, draw distance and reflections. It still gets the 40 FPS mode with a 120 Hz output.
⚠ Ray tracing was not in the PC version at launch: it was announced for a later patch.

FPS measured at 1080p on Very high quality, across 28 graphics cards. These are measurements on this game, not estimates.

PC. The comparison runs it at 2160p on max settings, and it wins on vegetation, ambient occlusion, shadows and anisotropic filtering. Consoles stop at 1440p reconstructed to 2160p.
Not at launch. Consoles run at 30 FPS with a 60 Hz output and 40 FPS with a 120 Hz output, with VRR support. The 2023 patch later added a 120 FPS performance mode on PS5 and Series X.
Very little in image quality: both render at 1440p and reconstruct 2160p with the same settings. The gap is in frame rate, where Series X is the more stable of the two and PS5 struggles in some open areas full of rats.
It renders at 900p and reconstructs 1080p, and it lowers shadows, textures, vegetation, draw distance and reflections next to PS5 and Series X. It keeps the 40 FPS mode if the console outputs at 120 Hz.
We have measured 28 cards on the Very high preset. An RTX 4090 sits between 142 and 156 FPS, an RTX 4070 Ti between 99 and 109, and an RTX 3080 Ti between 83 and 91. The game was among the first with DLSS 3, so frame generation buys extra headroom.
