Quick verdict

The best version of A Plague Tale Requiem is the PC one; on console, Series X holds the steadiest frame rate.

Best graphics experience PC 2160p on max settings, DLSS 3 and frame generation
Best console experience Xbox Series X same settings as PS5 with the steadier frame rate
Best for the money PC the platform with the most offers competing in our comparison

Why PC wins

PC reaches 2160p on max settings, with more vegetation and better ambient occlusion, shadows and anisotropic filtering than any console. It was also one of the first games to ship with DLSS 3 and frame generation. Of the 28 cards we measured on the Very high preset, an RTX 3080 Ti sits between 83 and 91 FPS.

On console

PS5 and Series X are level on settings and resolution: 1440p reconstructed to 2160p, 30 FPS at 60 Hz and 40 FPS at 120 Hz. Stability is what separates them, since PS5 dips in some open areas full of rats while Series X holds up better. A later patch added a 120 FPS mode to both.

Series S

Series S renders at 900p and reconstructs 1080p, cutting shadows, textures, vegetation, draw distance and reflections. It still gets the 40 FPS mode with a 120 Hz output.

Ray tracing was not in the PC version at launch: it was announced for a later patch.
