About ARK Survival Evolved
As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called ARK, you must hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, research technologies, and build shelters to withstand the elements. Use your cunning and resources to kill or tame & breed the leviathan dinosaurs and other primeval creatures roaming the land, and team up with or prey on hundreds of other players to survive, dominate... and escape!
Dinosaurs, Creatures, & Breeding! -- over 100+ creatures can be tamed using a challenging capture-&-affinity process, involving weakening a feral creature to knock it unconscious, and then nursing it back to health with appropriate food. Once tamed, you can issue commands to your tames, which it may follow depending on how well you’ve tamed and trained it. Tames, which can continue to level-up and consume food, can also carry Inventory and Equipment such as Armor, carry prey back to your settlement depending on their strength, and larger tames can be ridden and directly controlled! Fly a Pterodactyl over the snow-capped mountains, lift allies over enemy walls, race through the jungle with a pack of Raptors, tromp through an enemy base along a gigantic brontosaurus, or chase down prey on the back of a raging T-Rex! Take part in a dynamic ecosystem life-cycle with its own predator & prey hierarchies, where you are just one creature among many species struggling for dominance and survival. Tames can also be mated with the opposite gender, to selectively breed successive generations using a trait system based on recombinant genetic inheritance. This process includes both egg-based incubation and mammalian gestation lifecycles! Or put more simply, raise babies!
You must eat and drink to survive, with different kinds of plants & meat having different nutritional properties, including human meat. Ensuring a supply of fresh water to your home and inventory is a pressing concern. All physical actions come at a cost of food and water, long-distance travel is fraught with subsistence peril! Inventory weight makes you move slower, and the day/night cycle along with randomized weather patterns add another layer of challenge by altering the temperature of the environment, causing you to hunger or thirst more quickly. Build a fire or shelter, and craft a large variety of customizable clothing & armors, to help protect yourself against locational damage & extreme temperatures using the dynamic indoor/outdoor insulation calculation system!
By chopping down forests full of trees and mining metal and other precious resources, you can craft the parts to build massive multi-leveled structures composed of complex snap-linked parts, including ramps, beams, pillars, windows, doors, gates, remote gates, trapdoors, water pipes, faucets, generators, wires and all manner of electrical devices, and ladders among many other types. Structures have a load system to fall apart if enough support has been destroyed, so reinforcing your buildings is important. All structures and items can be painted to customize the look of your home, as well as placing dynamically per-pixel paintable signs, textual billboards, and other decorative objects. Shelter reduces the extremes of weather and provides security for yourself and your stash! Weapons, clothing & armor gear can also be painted to express your own visual style.
Pick seeds from the wild vegetation around you, plant them in plots that you lay down, water them and nurture them with fertilizer (everything poops after consuming calories, which can then be composted, and some fertilizer is better than others). Tend to your crops and they will grow to produce delicious and rare fruits, which can also be used to cook a plethora of logical recipes and make useful tonics! Explore to find the rarest of plant seeds that have the most powerful properties! Vegetarians & vegans can flourish, and it will be possible to master and conquer the ARK in a non-violent manner!
By bringing sufficient rare sacrificial items to special Summon locations, you can capture the attention of the one of the ARK’s god-like mythical creatures, who will arrive for battle. These gargantuan monstrosities provide an end-game goal for the most experienced groups of players and their armies of tames, and will yield extremely valuable progression items if they are defeated.
Create a Tribe and add your friends to it, and all your tames can be commanded by and allied to anyone in your Tribe. Your Tribe will also be able to respawn at any of your home spawn points. Promote members to Tribe Admins to reduce the burden of management. Distribute key items and pass-codes to provide access your shared village!
All items are crafted from Blueprints that have variable statistics and qualities, and require corresponding resources. More remote and harsh locales across the ARK tend to have better resources, including the tallest mountains, darkest caves, and depths of the ocean! Level-Up your player character by gaining experience through performance actions, Level-Up your tames, and learn new "Engrams" to be able to craft Items from memory without the use of blueprints, even if you die! Customize the underlying physical look of your character with hair, eye, and skin tones, along with an array of body proportion modifiers. As you explore the vast ARK, you'll find clues left by other Survivors who have made the ARK their home in ages past, in the form of collectible detailed 3D "Explorer Notes". By uncovering all of these, you can begin to piece together the true nature of the ARK, and discover its purpose!
Everything you craft has durability and will wear-out from extended use if not repaired, and when you leave the game, your character remains sleeping in the persistent world. Your inventory physically exists in boxes or on your character in the world. Everything can be looted & stolen, so to achieve security you must build-up, team-up, or have tames to guard your stash. Death is permanent, and you can even knock out, capture, and force-feed other players to use them for your own purposes, such as extracting their blood to for transfusions, harvesting their fecal matter to use as fertilizer, or using them as food for your carnivorous tames!
The mysterious ARK is a formidable and imposing environment, composed of many natural and unnatural structures, above-ground, below-ground, and underwater. By fully exploring its secrets, you’ll find the most exotic procedurally randomized creatures and rare blueprints. Also to be found are Explorer Notes that are dynamically updated into the game, written by previous human denizens of the ARK from across the millennia, creatively detailing the creatures and backstory of the ARK and its creatures. Fully develop your in-game ARK-map through exploration, write custom points of interest onto it, and craft a Compass or GPS coordinates to aid exploring with other players, whom you can communicate with via proximity text & voice chat, or long-distance radio. Construct & draw in-game signs for other players to help them or lead them astray... And yet.. how do you ultimately challenge the Creators and Conquer the ARK? A definitive end-game is planned.
On the 100+ player servers, your character, everything you built, and your tames, stay in-game even when you leave. You can even physically travel your character and items between the network of ARK's by accessing the Obelisks and uploading (or downloading) your data from the Steam Economy! A galaxy of ARKs, each slightly different than the previous, to leave your mark on and conquer, one at a time -- special official ARKs will be unveiled on the World-map for limited times in singular themed events with corresponding limited-run items! Furthermore, you can now design or randomize your own unique 'Procedurally Generated ARKs', for infinite replayability and endless surprises.
You can play single-player local games, and bring your character and items between unofficial player-hosted servers, back and forth from singleplayer to multiplayer. Lo Bueno: Tiene tantos dinos que no termino de tamear a todos los que estan en el the island junto con el The extintion. Se aprovecha el evento de los fines de semana de los servidores oficiales que el loot y el tameo estan x2. Los mapas estan bien desarrollados y el Extincion es enorme, quizas 3 veces mas grande que el the island con sus respectivos biomas. Siempre hay cosas por hacer ademas de farmear recursos, explorar, tamear dinos y buscar las reliquias para derrotar a los Boss de cada mapa se hace casi interminable muchas y muchas horas de ♥♥♥♥ que quizas jugando solo en un PVE no lo terminas ni en 3 meses. Lo Malo y aca vamos... Aun tiene bugs tanto como en algunos farmeos con dinos donde se aprovecha a sacar quizas un x5 de material más, solo algunos pocos saben y si no se te prende el foco de la cabeza jamas lo averigurias. Tambien bugs de rocas donde podes quedar atrapado sin poder saltar y tenes que esperar a morir de hambre y sed sin tener otra salida. Ademas algo que odie es el abuso de los old members que por ahi te ven empezar te dejan avanzar 2 o 3 dias y te van con un Tek o un Titan a destruirte toda una triste casa de paja o madera que recien estas levantando. En si, es la enorme estupidez humana de creer pro gamer con gente que recien empieza, Clanes grandes que te tapan todo un ARK completo de pincho y puertas colosales de metal. Una reverenda estupidez. A lo que obligan a jugadores que juegan solo a cambiarse continuamente de servers. Aun asi no deja de ser un Excelente juego que se llevara horas y horas de tu vida jaja.

This is a wonderful world to spend some time in. I'm not talking about the multiplayer mode, never tried it. If you are like me and you don't want internet morons to ruin your roleplaying experience, I can tell you that as a singleplayer experience this game is more than worth the investment!

ARK is very fun with friends and can give you a lot of laughs! The dinosaurs in this game are amazing and the graphics are superb. I definitely recommend this although please note the optimization in this game is a little off.

First review i wrote for a game but it had to be done! This game is like Crack! I've put a few hundred hours into this game and will probably put in a few hundred more. The devs are constantly pushing out new content (to a point where all the server maintenance is starting to become annoying haha) and they are very involved with the community trough reddit etc.

Amazing game! The graphics are great, the world looks amazing and there's so much to do in the game! You can build your very own castle, or venture out on a Pteranodon through the skies! It has so much capability that you just cant miss out on!

Is Ark worth €59,99? In my opinion, no. However, if you're an incredibly huge fan of surviving and dinosaurs, it might be worth the money for you. You can always wait until there's a sale on Ark. It's been on sale for around €30 multiple times, and I'd say that ís worth it. You can play Ark either alone, with friends or online. You can adjust the difficulty to your liking, like increasing the recourse harvesting rate, and dinosaur stats, etc. It's very fun to play with a couple of friends, however, non-dedicated sessions can be annoying, since you can't move far away from eachother. This can be changed by increasing the "Host Tethering Distance", however I have had performance issues when I increased this number. That brings me to my final point: Ark requires a quite beefy PC to run on proper settings, and it also takes a lot of disk space (My Ark is currently using a little over 110 GB on my hard drive). I really enjoy the game, and I do recommend it.

This is, one of the best and worst games I've ever played. The idea behind it is phenomenal. Unfortunately, the execution left a lot to be desired for me personally. Pros: -Loads of awesome dinosaurs that you can fight, tame, ride, fly, and gather supplies with. -Modular base building mechanics, which for the most part works pretty well. Cons: -Probably the worst developers I've experienced in quite a while. Every patch that they released seemingly made the game worse, at least in my opinion. -Literally no concern for balance regarding small tribes or casual players. Servers set up and enforce their own rules. -Horrible optimization. I have a relatively good PC, and I was lucky to pull 30 FPS most of the time. -Random and frequent server disruptions leading to dinos which take several hours, or even days, to tame failing, -Server wars, in which a tribe which had a monopoly on another server would build up a massive force, and then bring over all of their dinosaurs and resources to a new server, completely destroying the tribes there if they were too weak, and setting up another monopoly there if possible. -The game has a prisoner system in which you can knock another player unconscious, and then handcuff them and keep them in a cage. I'm probably missing a lot of cons as well, but honestly I think that whatever good you might have to say about this game, it's overwhelming outweighed by the amount of garbage you have to put up with in this game. I really don't advise putting your time into this game, tempting as it might be.

Who has not imagined mounted on a T-Rex, sow panic and be the king of the jungle? Well this is one of the thousands of things you can find in the game. After my already more than 160 hours played, I will try to get an review as complete as possible. I must start by saying that for me is the best survival game I've played to this day and I start ducking squarely in its gameplay, its pros and cons; I begin by saying that the game is "early access" and this may be an advantage for many (as you will see how the game evolves and you're finding you new patches that introduce improvements and content) or a disadvantage as you will find numerous "bugs" or errors yet to fix, but then delve into this topic. Enter the field, and we have a very complete game up being a good survival, we mixed in a mapping with a myriad of dinosaurs that I'm sure will engage more than one, and now with the new release of the film ! Well in the game you have to work, or play as you take it;) for tens of hours to get the most out of the game and to explore all possibilities. We start being more like an Australopithecus homo sapiens simply because of the shortage of tools that we have in the early game (or initial phase of the game). We work hard collecting and facing against numerous dinosaurs fight for their own survival to grow and to build our own home. In addition as we go gathering, fighting, creating going to go up a level and we will be entering new crafteos (designs to create objects) as well as improving our statistics at will, which is appreciated. Co **, he is missing in other survivals able to build a murderer Super rivals knock down a good pineapple, or a super fast dwarf that not a kidnapper! Because yes, also it has an authoring system that ... will not leave anyone indifferent. You can create true monstrosities! Turning to the gameplay, you'll have hundreds of hours ahead to discover all the content offered by the game. And in order to achieve the ultimate game objects you must reach the last levels, so .. take it easy, friend. Let us now analyze the things you can do in the game itself. For this I must first explain that there are two types of servers, PvE (in which you'll focus more on survival against the machine, ie against the dinosaurs themselves) and PvP servers, where you suffer for keeping your housing intact against other players. Both servers have their problems and advantages, happened to talk to you about, because it is an interesting topic and you should know before buying the game. - The PvE servers have the main advantage that do not have to fight against other players, so you'll be "on your ball" building your house to your taste, capturing your dinosaurs knowing that nobody will kill, etc. So we would say that is a lighter experience for those who like to take the game more calmly. The main advantage is that come a time that you do monotonous, but I assure you it will cost you several hours to get to that point. So we would say that if you want to gain experience and have a first contact with the game, this is your type of server. - The PvP servers will take you to the more radical end of survival, where you have to fight every day to keep alive the flame of your home, fight to protect your dinosaurs, and make your own attacks on other rival tribes. For my taste this kind of servers are the best (again, for my taste). Instead they have a fundamental flaw that we can not overlook, and that YOU TAKE ACCOUNT! In this type of server you'll have to protect your house very well if you do not want every night you the wrecking, because do not forget that when you disconnect, your character stays there, unconscious, and they can abuse you: / So it will require great initial effort, and there will be people who kill not your dinosaurs to grow, which can lead to a level that the game reaches desquiciarte. This has a remedy, and are unofficial servers (many obvious people or unknown, and instead, for my taste are best) on them are getting standards (good to protect new people, to put limits on attacks on other tribes, etc) in addition to find active managers that will keep the "rabble" we all know away. So that I highly recommend you to consider. That said, I suppose you will become an idea of the great content that has the game, but hey, the highlight and what I like is the subject of dinosaurs which you can domesticate (if you heard right) in addition to you can tame the vast majority of bugs that you encounter. In another much you can mount them and use them for your own help, either to collect as if it were a tractor, either to easily kill other creatures to explore, etc. I forgot! the mapping is quite large areas with lots of features, such as mountains, beaches, lakes, even the island of death! Yes, it is named and you can imagine why ...>. < For the hardiest consoles I have good news, the game is very well suited to command, and will also be available on consoles! As for the audiovisual section, it is wonderful, has excellent graphics and good amazing atmosphere that'll put you more in the role of surviving in the jungle. Although I have to say that some sounds, such as climbing stairs, are pretty bad, and I hope to improve. But you could say that in the global is careful not disappoint, also has a good soundtrack. I still remember when I got the first day with my I7 and my 760 and I was wrong in low graphics ... what came bitchy me -.- "But today I have the graphics on high (I still have to try them in epic ) and it runs stable at 40-45 fps me. so I'm sure that will further improve. Many also wonder RUST differences versus its main competitor, and I must say that on the issue of survival are very similar but for me, the theme of dinosaurs gives a touch "special" to play. But on the issue of buildings and crafteos it is quite similar. Iwould finally, as I said before, the theme of the game is in early access or early access, meaning that the game is not over. Personally, it is an advantage, and the great work they are doing. You find patches almost daily, you see errors and a few days are solved it encourages you to play as you feel firsthand how the company is working hard to improve the gaming experience. They add new content almost every week (new objects, dinosaurs, etc.) On the other hand, you find numerous bugs or errors that annoy you at certain times, for example I lost a T-Rex that was very gained a level because of a bug, but hey, is what you face buying it and playing it now. This is because your decision, but do not be alarmed, this type of bugs is rare! Therefore, we will make a balance for those who are lazy and do not feel like reading the whole review! ADVANTAGE + Great content. + Dinosaurs to shovel, domesticable tip and you can ride. + Good build system, to have the strength to your taste. + Good graphics and good sound atmosphere. + Good leveling system and improving your character. + Ability to play with control in the PC version also well suited where will not miss any interaction. + Official and unofficial servers that will satisfy your own requirements. In addition to finding possible PvE and PvP servers. + Patches daily and new content almost weekly. + Mapped large enough that it will take hours to explore. DISADVANTAGES - Great requirement to play high / epic. - Bugs that hinder your gaming experience. - In official servers you will be constantly assailed by more advanced players (therefore recommend unofficial servers).
