Helldivers makes a decision on "friendly fire"

Helldivers 2 has caused a great stir in the gaming community, standing out for its unique approach that includes the presence of friendly fire. This feature, although it has caused some frustration among players, is considered essential by the game's creative director, Johan Pilestedt.

According to his statements, friendly fire adds an additional layer of complexity to the game, forcing players to think strategically during combat sequences and promoting teamwork.

Despite questions and requests from the community to make friendly fire optional, Pilestedt has been clear in his post on the official PlayStation blog, stating that it is an integral part of the gaming experience and that he has no plans to change it in the near future.

Helldivers 2 is already available on PlayStation 5 and PC, and although its focus on friendly fire may be unique, it is not the only game to include it. Other popular titles such as Rainbow Six Siege, Battlefield, and Valorant also feature this characteristic, showing that the concept is not entirely new in the world of cooperative shooters.
