Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War 3 has been announced, the upcoming strategy title set in the
universe of Warhammer 40k, in a universe in which there is only war.
Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War 3 PC Digital must be downloaded from the
Steam gaming platform, adding the digital serial of
Dawn of War 3 that we will receive by email after purchase it.
It is a
real-time strategy game in wich we will command mighty armies of three different races (currently only three races known):
Space Marines, Eldar, and Orks. One of the most important features of Dawn of War 3, is that we will lead to large units, massive war machines that provide an enormous fire power in our war against other races. The action of
epic battles remains, like previous installments.
We may also deploy great collectibles squads, each with special abilities and bonuses, with which we can create new strategies to annihilate the other races. Mythical abilities like Space Marine Orbital Bombing of, the Eldar Supernatural Storm or Orks Piedroz will remain available and will be more devastating than ever, so you have to take special care with it. The graphics engine has been completely built from zero, so we will have new graphics, more destructible environments, large units, impressive skills, and much more. In addition to the campaign mode, we will have available the multiplayer mode, where we will create powerful armies and face in bloody battles against other players for control of resources.
We don´t have information about possible "
The Last Standalone" mode as in
Dawn of War 2 Retribution, where along with two other heroes we faced waves of enemies in the sand, evolving our character. It will come in 2017, but its exact date is unknown.
Do not forget that all the stores that we have listed in
gocdkeys have been tested and verified by our team, so they are totally reliable (you can read reviews and ratings of shops in the + info, button find next to each). Still, we recommend to you read all the information about this product at each store.
What's new?
Leaving aside a bit of technical, graphic and sound, where it took a huge step forward, we will focus on the latest developments in armies and units available, which is what most interests us. The first thing to note is that since the launch, on April 27th, only three races will be available: Space Marines, Orcs and Elders. Based on these three races and what has been seen in the videos of the multiplayer games that circulate on YouTube, the units differ as follows:
Elite units are specialized units that we can choose at the beginning each battle and that we can deploy when we reach a certain score. These Elite units will wreak havoc on the battlefield and help us change the combat at the right time.
The hero units are unique, also known as the characters. We can deploy them at any point in the battle and will not cost as many points as the Elite units, but their deployment will also have a significant impact on the enemy army and come with individual and often devastating abilities.
The line units are the rest, the cannon fodder of the armies, and will be the bulk of our troops. As a general rule, these units will be produced from the buildings of our base and will cost a certain amount of resources, even so, they will be the backbone of our forces.
Each unit has a series of statistics that will measure its effectiveness in combat:
Cost: As in previous deliveries, all units have a purchase price, as a result of two available resources like the Requisites and the Power, the latter a little harder to get and that maintains the structure of previous Dawn of War.
Health: That will determine the amount of damage that our unit can receive before dying. A typical feature of most games, but in Dawn of War 3 will also depend on the armor of each unit.
The Armor: Depending on the unit can be of two types: Normal or heavy. Heavy armor will offer better protection against standard shots, but some units have the characteristic "Penetrant" or "Armor-Piercing" that will do an exceptional damage to this type of armor. On the other hand, standard armor will receive more damage from conventional weapons but less damage from Armor-Piercing. In the matter of the kind of damage, other than normal or penetrating, there are also units with "True Damage" that will do extra damage to any armor.
Unit Type: In this section is where the melee units or distance units are differentiated, each of the units with its unit type icon so that it is easily recognizable on the battlefield.
Speed: That is no more than the rate of movement of a unit and how fast it can move around the battlefield. The units with greater mobility offer greater tactical possibilities since they are the ones that must be used to surround the enemy soldiers and to attack them from the flanks.
Although the other deliveries share the same type of features in the units, in Dawn of War 3 have been added small improvements in these aspects that provide new features. Now, as a novelty has been incorporated Critical Strike, which is a trait of units that warns that every fifth melee attacks, made by this particular unit, will cause extra damage and an AOE that will cause knockback.
And finally, as a novelty, we have the Doctrines, which are selected before each battle and have a global effect on all units of our army. We will have the possibility to choose several Doctrines for each unit of Elite, but we will only be able to select one of them. Doctrines are divided into Command Doctrines, which will be active throughout the battle, and Presence Doctrines, which only work when deployed to a unit.
We have to emphasize that there are certain aspects of the game that remind us of one of the mythical RTS of all time, StarCraft. One of those "winks" to the traditional RTS, is that now the Eldar have something called Battle Focus, which gives them a regenerative shield that we will destroy before damaging the health of the unit, which reminds us of the shields of the Protoss race.
But undoubtedly the best novelties, it is an addition to the large special units of races, such as Space Marine Titans, a forty-foot-high mechanical beast with gatling weapons in the arms and missile launchers on the shoulders, an authentic display of the power of the emperor, although each race has its "Titan."
Should I buy this new Warhammer 40k?
If you are a fan of this universe of GamesWorkshop, without a doubt, you should buy it. If apart from being a fan of this universe, you like real-time strategy games set in extraterrestrial races from a very distant future, then this is your game.
