About Shadows of Forbidden Gods

A strategy game in which you attempt to bring about the apocalypse, by moving covert agents through a complex fantasy world to accomplish a wide range of schemes, plots and rituals. You start the game by bribing guards and infiltrating minor farming communities and slowly build up your forces until you are bringing about ice ages, eradicating entire nations with plague, summoning volcanoes and commanding city-devouring snake-gods.

You play a set of agents and corrupted heroes against the forces of good, the rulers and heroes of humanity, lead by the Chosen One. They may be stronger than you, and could eliminate your agents with ease, but you have the advantage of secrecy, and humans are easily turned one against each other. Why fight a war against a unified empire when you could shatter in into civil war and clean up the pieces with orcish hordes?

Complex AIs power the forces of good, and you can, if the mood takes you, play on their minds. Rulers can be driven to gold-obsessed lunatics, who will cause their people to rise up in anger at the insane taxations, dukes can be tricked into turning on their Kings by a carefully placed personal item which implies a court scandal, heroes can be driven insane by the maddening tales read in The Laughing King's Tome and the shadow can corrupt your enemies to the point where they start funding your agents instead of their own people.

Designed as a very flexible apocalypse simulator, Shadows of Forbidden Gods allows you to mix and match your toolsets with unique agents and varied effects, with the human forces responding dynamtically, levelling up their heroes to face what they believe to be the major threats.

How much does Shadows of Forbidden Gods for PC cost right now?

Shadows of Forbidden Gods for PC starts at €1.98 (€2.49 with fees) at Kinguin, a Steam key, which is 85% under the €16.41 (no fees) it costs on the official store.

No day in our records has it been cheaper than today.

That €1.98 (€2.49 with fees) already includes the OCTGOC10 coupon, so apply it at checkout or the store will show you a higher price.

Just 4 stores stock it, 4 offers in all, so there is little here to push the price either way.

Is it worth buying the Steam Key for Shadows of Forbidden Gods now or waiting?

That €1.98 (€2.49 with fees) key is at one of its best prices.

  • Those €1.98 (€2.49 with fees) are 54% below what it usually costs, measured on the store price.
  • Only 4 stores sell the Steam Key, and with that little competition the price barely moves.
  • Not counting today, the lowest we have recorded for the Steam Key across 396 days is €2.20, and today it sits exactly there.
At this price it is worth buying the Steam Key now: what you stand to gain by waiting is a few euros, and it is not guaranteed.

Worked out from 858 daily records of the Steam Key for Shadows of Forbidden Gods across 5 stores. See the full price history.

The price does not include each store's payment fees. The percentage is measured on the store price, without coupons, because that is how we record the history. The analysis only counts Key offers. Shared accounts, Steam Gift and physical editions stay out, because they are not the same product and their prices move differently.

Can you activate Shadows of Forbidden Gods in US?

All 4 offers are Global, so the code redeems on any account no matter where it was created.

Why is there such an expensive Shadows of Forbidden Gods offer?

One listing is worth ignoring: the Steam key that Fanatical has at €16.79 (no fees) is more than 6 times the cheapest offer and is not what this game costs. The number to work from is €1.98 (€2.49 with fees) at Kinguin.

WHAT IS Shadows of Forbidden Gods ABOUT?

- Shadows of Forbidden Gods is an exciting strategy game that challenges you to unleash the apocalypse in a complex fantasy world. Become a master of deception and infiltration as you delve into a wide variety of schemes, plots, and rituals to achieve your evil goals. From small bribes to causing ice ages to eradicating entire nations with plagues, you will have the power to influence the fate of this world.

- You will face the forces of good, represented by rulers and heroes who lead humanity, together with the Chosen One, its most powerful leader. Although they may be stronger than you and easily take out your agents, you have the advantage of secrecy and the ability to manipulate humans against each other. Instead of waging a frontal war against a unified empire, you'll be able to sow discord and take advantage of internal divisions, using orc hordes and other means to wreak havoc in a civil war.

- The game is enriched with a complex artificial intelligence that drives the forces of good. If you wish, you can manipulate the minds of your enemies. You will be able to make the rulers obsessed with gold, angering their people due to exorbitant taxes. Trick dukes into betraying their kings by strategically placing items involving court scandals. Drive the heroes mad with disturbing stories they find in The Tome of the Laughing King. You will even be able to corrupt your enemies to the point of getting them to finance your own agents instead of their own people.
