Description & requirements

Outlast 2 is the second installment of one of the most disturbing and terrifying games of recent years. The first delivery has already made us feel scared and this second promises to be even more frightening than the previous one, so be prepared to feel the panic in a video game like you've never felt it before.

What is it Outlast and How everything starts?

Outlast 2 is a horror adventure that we could catalog in the genre of survival horros, with real moments of panic and a little blood everywhere, yes, it is a little gore and not suitable for all audiences.

The main enemy in this second installment is a bloody sect founded in a village located in a wild land, away from civilization, where they carry out their brutal rituals. Our characters in Outlast 2 are two investigative journalists willing to take all kinds of risks, Blake Langermann and his wife Lynn, who investigate a sinister ritual that these sect has carried out.

It all begins when the pair of brave investigators heads in a helicopter to a desert valley where the murder of a young pregnant woman has taken place, and from the appearance of the crime scene everything seems to indicate that she has been the victim of a ruthless satanic ritual. Everything seems to go well until suddenly the helicopter falls and the couple is forced to separate.

That's when the adventure begins in Outlas 2, playing as Blake. During the first moments of the adventure we must explore the surrounding area, trying to avoid a group of devotees of the bloody sect.

What makes it so scary?

As in the first Outlast, our character has a camera that will allow us to record and document absolutely everything: blood, rituals, grotesque scenes and scenes of total darkness, at which point we will use the night vision of the camera, and which will be the stellar moments and so characteristic of the game and is when the heart begins to accelerate.

The goal in the beginning is to stay away from enemies, to avoid being detected or captured and to find batteries for the camera, to be able to keep documenting everything.

And the graphic quality?

Outlast 2 makes a leap forward, with respect to its previous delivery, as far as level of detail, lighting and high graphic level. Although the requirements to be able to execute it to the maximum are not very high, the game is able to display a high graphic level worthy of any triple A game, especially in the moments with the night vision activated of our camera where we will be able to appreciate the cinematographic granulate, that endows the game with more realism.

Should I buy it?

You should buy it if you do not suffer from the heart, epilepsy or any other disease with which your body can not withstand tension. The game has high doses of violence and blood, so if you are sensitive to these things we do not recommend it. Now, if you enjoy gore and horror movies this game will delight you.

Comments and reviews

They said "Creepiest game ever", I don't think so. Maybe if you're "Sissiest gamer ever".
The first Outlast was far creepier, with pretty low graphics, more interesting story. But this one look like a sissy version of Silent Hill.
Evil Within wins in every parts, where this game failed so much.
